Elaine and Catherine and why war is big money

I collect all these odd articles from around the net, and certain folk have become favorites sources of mine, although they normally inhabit separate little corners of the internet. It is therefore nice when one of them mentions another of them.

Catherine Austin Fitts doesn’t concentrate on foreign news to the degree that I do this but her coverage of the US perspective of this Great Unwinding is full of rich details and tying together important matters and this article is a typical example: the mess in the Pentagon is very much one of the root causes of not only our economic collapse but the collapse of our imperial powers. Obama just made the #2 man in the Pentagon, a lobbyist who pushed for more and more spending. This is a clear sign that the Pentagon Milch Cow will continue to eat up most of our tax dollars and give us red blood and red ink aplenty.

I keep pointing out that the ‘mistakes’ and ‘glitches’ in systems are deliberately encouraged, widened and exploited. When people find holes in the walls leading to the Cave of Wealth and Death, they get out pick axes and open them wider. In the case of the Pentagon, the concept of a Cave where there is vast wealth but also death, is obvious! For, the only way to make real big money is to start bigger wars! And if there is infinite money, there will be infinite wars.

A great example is WWI: all the major empires fighting that stalemate war had an outside source of funding. The brand new Federal Reserve is a private bank. European bankers helped engineer its creation. Working with the US branches of European banks, they were able to funnel epic amounts of money.

As millions of European soldiers died hideous deaths in massive trench warfare, the money paying for that butchery flowed like a gushing river, from America. No one wanted to surrender or negotiate because no one had to raise taxes to keep fighting. They all merrily collected IOUs to American banks. This caused the Great Depression when none of them could even pay back the interest owed on these loans.

The Pentagon has figured out how to suck down infinite sums without infinite soldiers dying. By killing mostly civilians in small wars across the globe, the money lending to the Pentagon can flow effortlessly without citizens even noticing this since none of this appears to be paid for via tax collections. I wish to thank Catherine, by the way, for detailing the process by which these accounting methods used by our government, work. We can easily fix this and it is impossible to fix this since this is how so many people who bribe Congress and the President get their wealth! Just like the noxious cycle of voting for billions of dollars for Israel feeds corruption as Israel uses some of this money to funnel it back to Congress again.

What this is all about is explained a bit below, in reference to an article that came out in the Sunday Times a few weeks back, on January 6, and that I blogged about on January 14.

Keep in mind that the FBI admitted that Edmonds is on the level. She's been under a gag order for years. No one here would touch her story, so she gave it to the Times.

For some reason this all reminds me of another blogged entry from 2006 about the American-Turkish Council...

Among the newly disclosed information from Edmonds, in the extraordinary front-page Times article tonight:

● Foreign intelligence agents from Turkey, Israel and Pakistan enlisted the support of high-level US officials in order to acquire a network of moles deep inside of sensitive American military and nuclear agencies, including "PhD students – with security clearance [at] Los Alamos nuclear laboratory in New Mexico, which is responsible for the security of the US nuclear deterrent."

● Members of the diplomatic community were given lists of potential "moles" at the sensitive installations. Edmonds tells the Times: "the lists contained all their 'hooking points', which could be financial or sexual pressure points, their exact job in the Pentagon and what stuff they had access to."

● Well-known US officials were then bribed by foreign agents to steal US nuclear secrets. One such incident from 2000 involves an agent overheard on a wiretap discussing "nuclear information that had been stolen from an air force base in Alabama," in which the agent allegedly is heard saying: "We have a package and we’re going to sell it for $250,000."

● Nuclear secrets were then subsequently sold by foreign agents to America's enemies, including Iran, North Korea and Libya.

● Pakistani officials involved in the nuclear black market network have significant cross-over with al-Qaeda and 9/11. Officials such as the chief of ISI, Pakistan's spy agency, allegedly sent $100,000 to 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta, and aides of A.Q. Kahn --- who had used the stolen secrets to develop nuclear weapons for Pakistan --- met with Osama bin Laden "weeks before 9/11...to discuss an Al-Qaeda nuclear device."

● Elements of the US government have repeatedly shut down investigations into these crimes under the guise of protecting "certain diplomatic relations."

● The US government has been aware of all of the above information since at least 2001.

The Times article then notes something that I reported 18 months ago. Immediately after 911, the FBI arrested a bunch of people suspected of being involved with the attacks - including four associates of key targets of FBI's counterintelligence operations. Sibel heard the targets tell Marc Grossman: "We need to get them out of the US because we can’t afford for them to spill the beans." Grossman duly facilitated their release from jail and the suspects immediately left the country without further investigation or interrogation.

Let me repeat that for emphasis: The #3 guy at the State Dept facilitated the immediate release of 911 suspects at the request of targets of the FBI's investigation.

high-level Pentagon officials were maintaining 'dossiers' on the sexual and financial proclivities of their underlings in order to be able to blackmail them.

I know that many of you have been (rightly) concerned about FISA, and many of you have (rightly) been confused by the inexplicable behaviour of Democrats in Congress, and wonder why they behave as though they are being blackmailed.
